Dan - we could go further with the physics in a sim direction, but the level we're at shouldn't disappoint those looking for respectable car handling. It is a large step forwards from FC and SCC, that's for sure.

I don't know a lot about Ferrari: The Race Experience. Edit: see 2 posts down for more info...

It would make for bad PR if there were lies in the first press release, don't you think?

Also, damn you for overtaking my post count.

Nope, no lies there.

It's well known you need something to do in order to keep your brain occupied and your attention levels up. This is why the worlds longest bridges are sometimes curved, as driving straight remove the need to be steering, and can make people sleepy. If I wanted everything to be done for me, I'd take the train. If I'm driving, I like twiddling all the different knobs, changing gear by myself, rev matching, turning indicators off at the right time, adjusting my wiper speed as the rain varies, switching from blowers to open windows depending on my speed, etc. It's all part of what driving is about, IMO.

Quote from tristancliffe :rule of the road #422: Everyone switches their lights on about an hour (or two) earlier than needs be.

Really? I generally had the opposite impression. Massive visibility aid around dusk.

Quote from tristancliffe :And if you can drive off without your lights on, then it isn't dark enough for lights

Around the city with all the street, I never need my lights on to see where I'm going. They barely help at all. I'm sure the police would have something to say if I always took your approach though.

I'm sure it depends on the car to some extent but ones I've been in are certainly over keen.

Quote from PMD9409 :"No PC version?"

Maybe if there's enough people complaining and support for a PC version, those with the power will reconsider. I'd sure like to see one too.

Can't comment on it's accuracy. Makes me wonder who was their source.

Yeah I dislike the massive amounts of automation in modern cars.

I still haven't used auto-cancelling indicators that work. Forever turning themselves off before the corner unless the road leading to the junction is straight, and don't turn off soon enough once the manouver is performed.

Auto headlights and auto wipers are far too eager, slightest cloud or drop of rain and they're on.

I swear I'll retaliate and buy a Caterham as my next car. Automatic anything? It won't even have doors!

Ah yes thanks, it appears IndyCar Series 2005 might well include this track too (ref 1 2).

Found this one for rFactor; can anyone better it?

Apparently ARCA SimRacing includes this track too, does anyone know if it's any good?
Kentucky Speedway - where to play?

Hey guys

Would anybody know of any game that includes the track Kentucky Speedway? Be it as standard content or a mod.

Cheers

Technically the people in the wrong (but not illegal; it's against the rules, not the law) are anybody who creates and/or shares a tweak app without licence protection. It doesn't matter which forum you release it on. Of course being the official forum, this is one place such a rule will always be enforced. Finding such an app and using it is no problem, it's the app makers/distributors we frown upon.

To the topic; just edit your cars as usual. I've not seen an app that modifies the dedicated server, so you'll have to use a full client for serving. Of course anyone joining without an identical set of modifications will be booted upon joining. So you have to share preset files.

Erm, OT much guys? It doesn't really matter what one forum member thinks of another, leave your egos and attention seeking natures at the door, thanks.

Quote from Chunkiegg :as soon as I go over the border to West Sussex, the prices get mental

In fairness, that's still only a 7% difference. Think how much more chocolate bars are at a service station, compared to the supermarket.

Quote from danowat :My diesel bill has gone from £120 a month, to about £40 a month.

Another little piece of motivation to be healthy, eh? I like cycling to work, but it's too inconvenient to cycle AND go to the gym after work. So I drive and gym. At least both the gym and the supermarket are on the way home for me, saves me separate trips. It's nipping all round the country I can't substitute with cycling though, been burning through nearly £300 a month recently. Car is great but 22½ mpg hurts!
